Tornadoes are deadly, reaching up to 500kph (311mph), making them the storm with the highest winds. Tornadoes form most commonly develop in thick cumulonimbus clouds during spring and early summer.

Tornado damage is devastating. Each year between 50 and 90 people die in the United States from tornadoes alone.
